Lochend Orkney Boreray
Farmers Jen and T of Shapinsay Orkney Boreray are a rare and ancient breed of sheep that live and thrive in Orkney
The Lochend flock live on a small family run farm in Shapinsay, an Orkney island
As part of an Orkney wide conservation effort with several other farmers on various Orkney isles, Jen and T work tirelessly to protect and promote the breed
Orkney Boreray are a small sheep and sport horns and double coats. They are well equipped for Orkney life
Jen and T breed the sheep to increase the numbers and support the efforts of the Orkney Boreray community
The wool can be rooed or shorn and an average fleece weighs around 2kg in its raw state
