Frequently Asked Questions

I thought it would be nice to add this section for my customers so they can find the answers to many of the questions I have been asked. If you do however have any other questions please feel free to ask in my contact section.

  • Where Are You?

I am located in Orkney but my products can be sold to UK, USA and Canada

  • Is Everything You Sell Made From Orkney Wool?

No, it is not. The majority of my wool is from Orkney sheep and I support the islands as much as I can. This will increase each shearing as I make new contacts and purchase new breeds.

  • Wool takes 6-8 months to process into base products and once my supply runs out I must wait for the sheep to regrow it!

  • Every year the batch of wool will be fresh and new. Each of my products has an explanation of where the wool comes from and if you wish to have a rug made from Orkney, Scottish, or British wool please just ask and I will source it for you.

  • We also enjoy working with rare breeds of sheep.

  • I’m in the EU, can I buy your wool?

Sadly no, the rules for selling to the EU stop me from selling to you. I only sell to the UK, USA and Canada

  • Turnaround Times, how long will I wait for my rug

For a peg loom rug, If the wool is in stock, you can expect to wait 6-8 weeks or up to 8 weeks for a fleece backed rug. These times are a guide and can be longer if the rug is very large, a specialised or rare breed wool, or if there are supply factors to consider

  • I like your rugs but I’d like a pink one

Send me a message! We can dye your wool rug to order

  • Can we visit you in Orkney?

I’m sorry but we do not have a physical shop / factory. I work from my family home and visits are not available. I do however regularly visit craft fairs, agricultural shows and events with current stock. Keep an eye on my facebook page / instagram account for upcoming events

  • Do you have Alpaca wool rugs / yarn

Sorry we are all about the sheep, but there are many wonderful crafters out there already working with Alpaca wool
